Blind Chess is a chess training app for Android and iOS. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, when it is stored locally on your device, when it is synced to cloud services, and how it is used.

Local-Only Use
If you use Blind Chess without signing in, the app may store information locally on your device, including:
- Practice settings such as voice feedback, sound, and training preferences
- Saved games, imported PGN content, imported FEN positions, and generated reviews
- Progress and other gameplay data needed to resume or review your sessions
- Clipboard text only when you explicitly paste PGN or FEN content into the app
This local information is used only to provide the app’s gameplay and training features on your device.
Account and Cloud Features
If you choose to create an account or sign in, Blind Chess may process the following information:
- Authentication details, such as your email address and sign-in provider
- Basic profile data, such as your display name, username, profile photo URL, and optional country code
- Cloud-synced practice data, saved games, reviews, and other gameplay records
- Friends, friend requests, challenges, and related game activity
- Push notification tokens so the app can deliver account or game-related notifications
- Premium entitlement or subscription status needed to unlock paid features across devices
Depending on platform and feature availability, sign-in may be offered through email/password, Google Sign-In, or Sign in with Apple.
Purchases and Subscriptions
If you buy a premium subscription, Apple or Google processes your payment using their own store systems. Blind Chess does not receive your full payment card information.
Blind Chess may store or read limited purchase-related information, such as:
- Product identifiers
- Subscription or entitlement status
- Information needed to restore purchases or unlock premium features
Photos, Clipboard, and Notifications
- If you choose a profile photo, the app may use a photo you select or a profile image provided by your sign-in provider.
- Blind Chess may copy PGN text to the system clipboard only when you explicitly use a copy action inside the app.
- If you allow notifications, Blind Chess may store a push notification token and use it to send account, challenge, or gameplay-related notifications.
Service Providers
Blind Chess uses third-party services only to provide core app functionality. These may include:
- Firebase Authentication for sign-in and account management
- Cloud Firestore and related Firebase services for synced app data
- Firebase Cloud Messaging or Apple notification services for push notifications
- Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple when you choose those sign-in methods
- Apple App Store and Google Play billing systems for subscriptions and purchase restoration
These providers may process data as needed to deliver their services to the app.
Blind Chess uses handled information to:
- Authenticate users who choose to sign in
- Save or sync gameplay, reviews, settings, and profile information
- Support friends, challenges, and related cloud features
- Deliver notifications you have chosen to receive
- Restore purchases and determine premium access
- Keep the app functioning across your devices and sessions
Data Sharing
Blind Chess does not sell your personal information and does not share your information with advertisers for targeted advertising.
Information may be processed by service providers described above strictly to operate the app’s features, such as authentication, cloud sync, notifications, and payments.
Local Storage and Device Backups
Blind Chess stores some information locally on your device so sessions can be resumed and preferences can be remembered.
If your device uses platform backup or restore features, such as iCloud Backup or Android backup, locally stored app data may be included in those backups under your device’s normal system behavior.
Data Retention and Deletion
Local data remains on your device until you delete it, remove the app, or clear it through app actions where available.
If you created an account, you may be able to delete your account and associated profile data from within the app. You can also contact us using the email below for privacy or deletion requests.
Some records that involve other users, such as shared friend games, may be retained in a minimized or anonymized form when necessary to preserve those users’ records.
Children’s Privacy
Blind Chess is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate authorization.
